Project Overview:
The task is to write a 1-page academic essay on the topic “The Role of the Media in Shaping Public Perception of Crime.” The essay should follow APA format and demonstrate clear, critical engagement with scholarly sources. The paper must include proper in-text citations and a reference list.

Specific Requirements:

1. Abstract: Provide an abstract of 150–300 words summarizing the focus, argument, and findings of the essay.

2. Essay Length: The main essay (excluding title page, abstract, and references) should be 1 full page.

3. Formatting: APA format (12-point Times New Roman, double-spaced, 1-inch margins).

4. Citations: Use at least 2–3 credible scholarly sources (journal articles, books, or reputable studies). Proper in-text citations are required.

5. Content Focus:

   • How the media reports crime.

   • Theories such as framing, agenda-setting, and moral panic.

   • Impact of media portrayals on public fear, stereotypes, and policy.

6. References: Provide a properly formatted APA reference list at the end.
