Project Overview:
We are hiring a Remote Data Entry Clerk to support our finance team by transferring transaction records and scanned invoices into a structured Excel spreadsheet. This data will be used for expense tracking, bookkeeping, and financial reporting, so accuracy and formatting consistency are crucial.
Key Responsibilities:
Accurately enter the following data from scanned invoices and transaction logs:
Transaction Date
Vendor Name
Invoice/Reference Number
Transaction Amount (KES or USD)
Payment Method (e.g., Bank Transfer, M-Pesa, Credit Card)
Use the correct number and currency formats (e.g., 12,500.00 KES)
Maintain consistency in vendor naming and transaction descriptions
Flag any invoices or receipts with missing or unclear information
Review your entries for duplicates or inconsistencies
Source Materials:
Scanned receipts, bank statements, or invoice PDFs
Excel spreadsheet template (provided upon hire)
Data entry guide with sample formatting and naming rules
Required Skills:
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets
Experience in invoice processing or basic bookkeeping preferred
Strong attention to detail and numeric accuracy
Familiarity with financial terms and formats
Ability to follow instructions and meet deadlines independently
Deadline:
All financial records must be entered and submitted by August 7, 2025, no later than 11:00 PM EAT.
