Project Overview:
We are hiring a Remote Data Entry Clerk to assist with transferring transaction records and scanned invoices into a structured Excel format. The role demands precision, especially when entering numerical values and currency figures. The data will be used for internal bookkeeping and financial reporting.
Key Responsibilities:
Enter the following information from scanned invoices or receipts:
Transaction Date
Vendor Name
Invoice or Reference Number
Amount (in KES or specified currency)
Payment Method (e.g., bank transfer, M-Pesa, cash)
Ensure figures are formatted correctly (e.g., 12,500.00)
Maintain consistency in vendor naming and date formats (e.g., YYYY-MM-DD)
Flag any invoices with unclear amounts or missing fields
Perform a brief review to catch any duplicates or inconsistencies
Source Materials:
Scanned or PDF copies of invoices and receipts will be provided upon hire
Excel spreadsheet template with labeled columns will be shared
A brief instruction guide on formatting and field descriptions will be included
Required Skills:
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets
Familiarity with basic accounting or financial terms
Experience working with invoices or bookkeeping data (preferred)
Keen attention to detail and accuracy in numerical data
Ability to follow formatting rules and flag unclear entries
Deadline:
The completed Excel spreadsheet must be submitted by August 7, 2025, no later than 11:00 PM EAT.
