Medical Billing Data Entry Clerk – Job Summary

Our healthcare facility is hiring a Medical Billing Data Entry Clerk to oversee accurate and timely entry of billing data for both inpatient and outpatient services. In this role, you will play a key part in maintaining our billing system’s accuracy and supporting efficient insurance claim processing.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Input patient demographic information (name, DOB, address, etc.)

  • Enter and verify insurance carrier details and policy numbers

  • Assign appropriate billing and diagnosis codes (CPT/ICD-10)

  • Log treatment dates and total charge amounts

  • Update payment outcomes and reimbursement statuses

  • Record internal claim notes for audit and follow-up purposes

  • Review scanned billing records and source documents for accuracy

  • Maintain confidentiality and ensure HIPAA compliance
